You could probably fit these in the bed of the truck, but it will require drilling through the bed and replacing the U-bolts in the kit with some standard bolts. These particular racks do require removing the front wheel of the bike in order to get it in the rack. I recommend the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack for Truck Beds - Fork Mount # S64701. Truck bed bike racks such as # S64702 will need to rest on top of the bed sides. Otherwise they will not stay in place as you drive. What I recommend is the Softride Shuttle Pad # SR26461. These tailgate pads actually work quite well and you would not have to worry about the handlebars on the bikes interfering with the ladder rack.
